It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and after that Healy was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
