According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for consideration by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
