The thrilling extra-inning contest that saw the Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a combined 51 million watchers in the US, Canadian, and Japanese territories. Major League Baseball announced this marks the highest-rated Fall Classic Game 7 after the 1991 edition contest featuring the Twins and Braves.

In Japan, where the final contest started at 9 PM in the local time zone, it attracted 12M. This came after last Friday’s Game 6 – in which Fall Classic MVP Yamamoto allowed one run in six innings – averaged over 13 million spectators, making it the most-watched World Series game on a sole broadcaster in the country.
